In Country "To Do" List
Now that you have made it to your internship location, there are a few practical matters to take care of as you settle in and start your internship.

Send an email to your IE3 regional director and your campus coordinator stating that you've arrived in country.

Provide the regional director, your host organization and family members with your local contact information (residence address, telephone numbers and local email, etc.) as soon as possible.

Register with the nearest US Consulate or Embassy (where practical). Click here for a list of consulates and embassies.

If required by local law, register your visa with the local police and/or immigration.

Within the first week, have a formal meeting with your supervisor to prepare a Work Plan. Agree in writing on:

a. MAJOR OBJECTIVES
b. Related TASKS
c. Any RESOURCES required
d. A SCHEDULE for a mid-term review

A couple of weeks before completing your internship, provide your employer with the link to the Employer Evaluation Form.

Complete your Final Internship Report and submit it to your regional director and campus advisor for IE3, along with any reports you wrote for the professor supervising your credit. Also complete the online Intern Evaluation Form . These documents are essential to keep us informed about the internship experience at this site, to brief interested applicants on the site, to help us prepare any reference letters you might request, and to fulfill your commitment to the program.
