NEW FOR FALL 2008:
IE3 GLOBAL INTERNSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS

IE3 Global Internships is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships beginning Fall 2008 internships! IE3 Program Scholarships have been made available to improve access to the IE3 Global Internships program for highly-qualified students whose financial limitations would otherwise make participation in the program a hardship. Awards range from $500 to $1,500 per student in the form of a program fee reduction. 

A completed IE3 Scholarship application form must be submitted to the main office by 5:00pm Pacific Time on the published IE3 internship application deadline. Late applications will not be considered.  A completed IE3 Global internships program application must  have been received by your campus by the same deadline.

FastWeb Scholarship Search
Provides free customized scholarship search after user fills out profile. E-mail updates about suitable scholarships are then sent based on the profile.

University of Minnesota Learning Abroad Center scholarship database
Provides a search engine and currently has hundreds of listings. Can also view all listings.

Fulbright Grants
A wide range of one-year grants to support study, research, and/or teaching abroad. Over 100 countries participate, Designed to further mutual understanding among different cultures and nations, Most require language proficiency in language of country, but many English-speaking countries, including Canada, participate. Grantees usually plan own program. May include study at a foreign university, research, classes at a conservatory or art school, special project in the social sciences or sciences, or combinations thereof. International Education Financial Aid (IEFA)
Website provides free searches for scholarships for study abroad. www.iefa.org

FinAid! (National Association of Financial Aid Administrators) Website of the main US professional association for financial aid administrators provides scholarship searches and extensive information about financial aid. www.finaid.org

Rotary Scholarship - $25,000

Search for Excellence
Open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have completed at least 30 semester credits at their current college or university. Awards up to $5,000 in recognition of high academic achievement, campus involvement, work ethic, and community service. www.searchforexcellence.org.

Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarships

This congressionally funded program is offered through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and is administered by the Institute of International Education. Selected by competition, recipients are awarded up to $5000 to defray the costs associated with studying abroad.

October and March


DAAD    

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers edu.de Undergraduate Awards to highly qualified undergraduate students for study abroad, university language or summer courses, senior thesis research and/or internships in the Federal Republic of Germany. Short-term awards are available for stays of two or three months in conjunction with German university language or summer courses, independent senior thesis research, or an internship at a German institution or firm.

Freeman Asia

The primary goal of the Freeman-ASIA Program is to increase the number of American undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia, by providing students with the information and financial assistance they will need. Awardees will be expected to share their experiences with their home campus to encourage study abroad by others, and to spread understanding of Asia in their home communities.
