International health insurance is provided by Wells Fargo Insurance Services
(WFIS), formerly Acordia-Somerton. The plan includes 24 hour emergency
support by Scholastic Emergency Services and zero deductible health insurance. This plan
is provided as a complement to whatever health insurance you normally
have in the U.S. The information below is just a brief summary. Please
read the complete
brochure detailing coverage and exclusions.
IE3 Interns will be enrolled in the deluxe plan.
The plan is underwritten by Combined Insurance Company
and claims are administered by AmeriBen IEC Group (see end of page for
details on filing a claim).

* Additional coverage:
If you plan to remain outside the U.S. beyond the dates you are covered
by the program, it is recommended you purchase supplementary health insurance
that covers reimbursement for medical expenses, emergency evacuation and
repatriation of remains. There are many providers of such insurance and
we recommend you shop for the one that most closely meets your coverage
needs. A list of some of these providers can be found on the US State
Department website at: http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/health/health_1185.html#insurance.
This list is provided for information purposes only and does not represent
an endorsement of any of the providers on the part of the Oregon University
System and the IE3 Global Internships program.
