About the Organization
ITESM Campus Querétaro is part of the Tecnologico de Monterrey University System consisting of 30 ITESM campuses throughout Mexico with a total enrollment of over 90,000 students. The TEC is the largest private university system in Mexico and considered the best. ITESM Campus Queretaro (ITESMCQ) has a student population of around 5000 students, and offers 19 majors in architecture, business, agronomy, communications, humanities and engineering.
The ITESMCQ International Programs Department facilitates reception of international students and sends ITESMCQ students abroad. The majority of foreign students study for one summer, one semester or one school year. An international student adviser receives applications, processes requests for home-stays, does billing and payments, orients new students to cultural and practical situations, organizes field-trips and activities, monitors student development, and advises students with problems. Two staff members advise ITESMCQ students about study abroad options, help them choose an appropriate program, review all necessary documentation, assist with visas, etc. The staff also provides comprehensive predeparture and re-entry orientations for students. Another staff member works with internship placements and monitors interns throughout the semester. He also organizes special programs for short-term courses as well as tailor-made courses in summer. An academic coordinator plans the course offerings, schedules classes, assigns faculty, tests students for placement and does general academic advising.
