Located near Tours, Amboise and Chenonceau, the grounds consist of the château, a rose garden, a museum of wine and 43 hectares of landscaped garden. Bicycles are available for rent to visitors. The Château is open to visitors from June 15 to September 15.
Job Description
Intern will welcome visitors, lead tour groups, assist with the sale of wine, collect admission fees, and serve food at events at the Chateau. The internship provides insight into the tourism industry and wine-making in the Loire region of France. Working hours vary based on the visitors to the Château and interns may be asked to work irregular hours or on weekends. Days are often long and the work week is 6 days.

Qualifications
Academic Background
French, Hospitality Management or related majors
Skills/Experience
Experience in the hospitality industry is important
Language Ability
Proficiency in French required
Other Requirements
Prior experience with French culture (eg. a study abroad) is strongly preferred.

Compensation
Accommodation is provided for stay at Nitray. Interns required to pay for thier housing at Chateau de Vieul. A stipend of 600 Euros/month is provided to pay for groceries and local expenses.
Additional Information
Time is split between the Chateau de Nitray and the neighboring Chateau de Vieul. Job responsibilities are the same for each, though the personalities of the host sites are quite different.
