About the Organization
Jinqiao Education Group is the largest private education group in Wuxi and consists of one primary school, two kindergartens, and one afterschool training school.
Wuxi Jinqiao Bilingual Experimental School
Jinqiao's primary school has two branches with 2,600 students and 220 staff members. It started Bilingual Education research as the first research institute in Wuxi. In 2004, Jinqiao's research program -Bilingual Education Research and Experiments in Primary School - was adopted as the sub-research program of Bilingual Education Research and Experiments in Elementary Education which was once managed by the Ministry of Education of China. Also in 2004, Jinqiao Bilingual Experimental School was granted the status as a National Bilingual Education Lab by the Ministry of Education of China. It has close contact with Shuqun Primary School of Singapore. Every year Jinqiao and Shuqun primary schools participate in an international exchange of elected teachers and students for several months to share knowledge and experience. Jinqiao knows how to be a host!
Jinqiao Kindergarten
Jinqiao has 2 kindergartens, named Jinqiao Experimental Kindergarten and Liyuan Jinqiao Experimental Kindergarten. These two kindergartens have 1,200 students and 120 staff between them. Jinqiao Experimental was certified as one of China’s Top 100 Kindergartens in 2010.
Jinqiao Foreign Language Training School
This after school program works to teach English to children under 12 and as well as train kindergarten teachers. Last year they taught 10,000 children and 2,000 kindergarten teachers.
Job Description
Interns can choose to arrange their internship in our primary school, kindergarten, or a combination of the three. The following are typical tasks, but the intern is encouraged to tailor the experience to match his/her skills and interests.
- Teaching English in kindergarten alongside a national assistant (25 minutes/30children/class), children age from 3 to 5. Activities based on listening and speaking for young learners.
- Teaching English in primary school alongside a national assistant (40 minutes/40students/class), students age from 6 to 12. Activities geared towards improving listening and speaking skills.
- Teaching primary school students painting, math and science in English with a national assistant
- Organizing and hosting activities and ceremonies in kindergarten or primary school
- Teaching English to the teachers and faculty
- Taking part in bilingual education research
- Taking part in student recruiting
- Taking part in new employee recruiting

Skills/Experience
Required:
- Be interested in and open to different cultures
- Possess communication skills with children
- Be friendly and patient towards children
- Have basic understanding of teaching
- High level of self motivation and sense of responsibility
- You must not have a criminal record
- Practice healthy living habits
- Must be fluent English speaker
Language Ability
Applicant needs to speak English fluently. Some level of spoken Mandarin Chinese is helpful for everyday living but not necessary for work. Mandarin Chinese conversation course will be provided by Jinqiao to interns
Other Requirements
Interns will need to use common computer programs such as PowerPoint, Word etc, as well as use of a projector. These are provided by Jinqiao.

IE3 Program Fee
The IE3 program fee is $3450 for the first term for both in-state and out-of-state students and $1000 for each additional term, regardless of credit earned. You do not pay tuition for the term(s) you are abroad. Visit your University's IE3 page for details, costs for additional terms, and campus administrative fees.

Compensation
Jinqiao Schools will provide compensation in several areas to interns, but the amount of compensation for international travel is dependent upon length of internship. Please see below.
Visa
Any visa related costs will be covered by Jinqiao Schools. It may be necessary to initially pay for the visa and then be reimbursed.
Living Stipend
A stipend of 1700RMB will be provided each month. This is approximately $250.
Room and Board
Jinqiao provides three 3 accomodation options, all of which are free for interns:
- living at the school campus
- living in a homestay or
- living in apartment outside of but close to the school.
If the intern chooses to live in a homestay, breakfast and supper will be provided by the homestay family and lunch will be in the school. If intern lives on the school campus. all three meals would be in the school. If intern lives in an apartment outside of school, lunch would be in school, breakfast and supper allowance would be given to intern.
Transportation
A Jinqiao Schools representative will meet the intern at the airport in Shanghai and drive them to Wuxi and bring them back when the internship is completed. Transportation to and from work is provided daily. The cost estimates are assuming the intern will do some independent travel on the weekends.
Flight Reimbursement
A round trip fare will be reimbursed if an intern stays for one year, half of a round trip fare will be reimbursed if an intern stays 6 months, 30% of a round trip airfare for staying for 3 months.
Cell Phone
Jinqiao will provide each intern a local cell phone with phone number (100 RMB is enough for 300 minutes of local cell phone call, receiving calls on cell phone is free in China).

Wuxi is located in Eastern China, nestled between Nanjing and Shanghai, which are each about an hour's drive away and connected to Wuxi by high speed train and frequent bus service. Located near the Yangtze River and beautiful Tai Lake, its founding dates back more than 3000 years. Wuxi is famous for its education and sightseeing resorts. GDP ranks Wuxi in the top 10 cities of China, making it a visibly prosperous city. The people are friendly and Wuxi enjoys a very low crime rate.
