The Irish Film Institute is the national organization with responsibility for the promotion of the culture of the moving image in Ireland. The Institute owns and manages the Irish Film Centre, housed in a beautifully refurbished 17th century building in the heart of Temple Bar, the entertainment district of Dublin. Interns may work on several projects, including exhibitions, cataloguing, artifact arrangement and remedial conservation. Internship applicants should have a serious interest in Irish and/or European film. The IFI also administers and promotes a touring program of Irish cinema, Reel Ireland.
As part of the Irish Film Institute, the Irish Film Archive collects and preserves Ireland’s moving image heritage,including both amateur and commercial films. It makes these works available to researchers, school groups, community members and the general public through educational programs, screenings, and other activities in the institute and beyond.
