AMIC is a major resource for communicators in the Asia-Pacific. It serves as a clearing house of information, an initiator and implementer of research activities, and a publishing house specializing in communication issues. AMIC also provides a focal point for communication scholars and practitioners to exchange ideas and experiences, as well as to plan and work for the future. Interns assist with various projects including workshop preparations, publications, and writing and editing Amic's quarterly journal and bulletin. Language requirement: working knowledge of at least one Asian language helpful.

Job Description
Interns will assist with workshop preparations, publication of books on mass media laws in Asia, writing and editing AMIC's quarterly journal and bulletin, and the operation and maintenance of a website for publicizing poverty eradication programs in Asia. Interns will also perform daily office activities and special projects as needed.

Academic Background
Journalism, Communications or related field
Skills/Experience
Applicants must have knowledge of graphics, editing, and publication. Must have excellent writing skills. Previous experience editing school papers, magazines or books is not required, but considered helpful.
Language Ability
None. However, preference will be given to applicants with working knowledge of any Asian language.
Other Requirements
Interns must be skilled in computer usage, specifically: Microsoft Word, Pagemaker, Mac graphics software, desktop publishing and web page design.

IE3 Program Fee
For spring term 2012, the program fee for the first term of any internship is $2950 - $3150. The expected program fee beginning summer term 2012 is $3450 for the first term. You do not pay tuition in addition to the program fee. Visit your University's IE3 page for details, costs for additional terms, and campus administrative fees.
