Students work with financial and customer information to develop and maintain a database tracking commercial policy. The intern will also be responsible for analyzing the data and preparing reports to support the commercial relations of the firm. Students should possess strong self-motivation and be willing to take the initiative in their work. Excellent interpersonal skills are required as the intern will interact with clients and coworkers from all over Europe.

The Allergan Medical division focuses on treatments for obesity and medical aesthetics (facial and breast aesthetics), and manufacturers pharmaceutical products including Botox.
Job Description
Help establish a database tool that will help Allergan Medical:
Analyse current compliance with our current commercial policy (discounting policy) in Europe
Perform a comprehensive analysis of our current terms for European Allergan Medical customers.
Utilise the database tool to help propose relevant changes to Allergan’s commercial policies and to individual customer terms.
Key tasks:
Download the required pricing, rebate and unit sales data from SAP using standard reports.
Design and create a database that can store pricing, rebate and unit sales data.
Develop reports that will show whether current discounts reflect our commercial policies and each customer’s purchases.
Develop reports on suggested changes to current commercial conditions by customer.
Simulate the impact of proposed changes to commercial conditions.

Academic Background
Open to students in the sciences, engineering, mathematics, economics or business; students must have strong mathematical skills.
Skills/Experience

- Sound commercial understanding
Language Ability
Fluent written and spoken English.

Interpersonal skills - successful interns will be those who can interact well with different people in different parts of the organisation. International outlook. The internship involves working with people all across Europe, so some experience with other languages and cultures is preferable. Strong problem solving skills are a must. Students who can show through their past experience that they possess initiative and have career aspirations that they are striving to realize will be strongly considered.

IE3 Program Fee
The program fee* for the first term of any internship is $2950 - $3150. You do not pay tuition in addition to the program fee. Visit your University's IE3 page for details, costs for additional terms, and campus administrative fees.
*The program fee noted above reflects the anticipated fee increase that will go into effect for the Fall 2010 term and will apply to all terms thereafter.

Compensation
Allergan will provide maintenance grant of £750 per month. Allergan will reimburse travel costs from the USA to the UK, to a maximum of £800.
Additional Expense Information
Students must apply for a BUNAC internship authorization, and a Tier 5 UK visa. The process takes about eight weeks, and the cost is $750 for the BUNAC authorization, and £125 for the visa.
Marlow is about 50 miles outside of London, and easily accessible by train. It is also very convenient for accessing international airports, and for travel to the rest of the UK.
