Evaluating an Intern
All supervisors must submit an evaluation at the end of the internship. It is ideal to do the evaluation in the final week of the internship, as some universities require the employer evaluation in order to award credit. In some cases, the interns’ university department may have an additional evaluation sheet. Please take the time to fill out both evaluations.
The IE3 employer evaluation becomes an important part of the student’s internship file. Please let us know what he or she did well, as well as what skills were not adequate. This is not part of the official academic record for the student, rather it helps us to recommend future candidates and to better prepare future interns to be successful. Important aspects of the students’ performance include:
- Communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Language ability
- Adaptability
- Motivation
- Organization skills
- Knowledge of your organization
An evaluation form is available as an online survey by clicking here.
If you are unable to complete the evaluation online, it is also online as a PDF file which can be filled out and returned to the regional director as a fax, scanned file/email, or hard copy.
In addition to the evaluation of the student’s performance, there is a section for your feedback on the IE3 Global Internship program. We appreciate you taking the time to give us your input. Your reports and feedback are an important element in the evolution of this program.
The student will also submit a self-evaluation and a final report. Please let us know if you would like to receive copies of the final report.
