Working with IE3 ensures that you receive applications from candidates who have been carefully screened and orientated before arriving and have a support infrastructure and accountability to a professor on their home campus for their performance.
IE3 program standards have developed over more than a decade:
- Minimum of 10 weeks, up to 9 months
- full time positions (30-40 hours/week)
- candidates are screened by their home campus and again by the IE3 regional director before being advanced as a candidate
- interns receive orientation about international internships, cross-cultural tools, and information about your organization
- applications are forwarded 2-3 months before the start date of the internship, prompt replies regarding candidates are appreciated
- supervisors evaluate interns at the end of the internship.
This section has more detailed information about welcoming and orientating an intern and evaluating an intern. If you have any questions about the selection process, hosting an intern, or developing a position description, please contact the regional director.
