IE3 Alum Presents South Africa Photography Exhibit

Kayla Young, a senior at Southern Oregon University, spent spring 2009 as an IE3 intern at the Big Issue Magazine in Cape Town, South Africa. During her internship, she provided much of the magazine's photographic content, including a cover photo. In her spare time, she could be found with her camera all over Cape Town, making the most of her time in this photogenic destination.
Now back on campus, she has completed her Capstone Project highlighting her experience and growth in the field of photojournalism. She has chosen an exhibit of eighteen of her favorite photos from her time in South Africa, most of which were taken of township life in Cape Town.
The exhibit will be on display from February 15 to March 13, 2010, with an opening reception Feb. 18, 2010 in the Meyer Memorial Union at the Center for Visual Arts at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon.
