IE3 in France!

Cynthia Engel, the IE3 Europe Director has been traveling throughout France visiting existing internship sites and establishing some new, exciting opportunities. It's been great to be back in France and to meet the organizations and businesses who have been incredibly supportive of our program and our students. Our existing sites are really quite amazing! Some sites that are still open for summer interns include the Chateau de Touffou and the Chateau de Veuil. The Chateau de Touffou is truly a once in a lifetime experience to live and work in a wonderfully, fully restored Chateau complete with museum works of art in every room. For students interested in the arts and culture of France who can live both in the the formal and familial world while sharing their passion for art and culture, this is the internship for you!
A new internship at the Chateau de Bonaguil would be an incredible experience this summer for students interested in theater and event management. Students will assist in putting on a large theatrical festival, a la Shakespeare Festival, that takes place during the 2nd week of August in an enormous chateau that dates from the middle ages. Other new internships include two new translation internships in Lyon for this summer and fall 2009 and an exciting new opportunity for many different career fields at Futuroscope - an extensive special effects film based amusement park in France. I'm going to experience it myself this afternoon! Lots of great new opportunities in France...and the food and drink await your arrival!
I'll post more updates soon. I depart for Bucharest Romania to visit our sites there on Wednesday and then head south to visit CLIDA in Florence, Italy. A bientot de la France!
