Inauguration Day around the World

From Margaret O'Neill, intern at the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, Scotland:

"Last night was amazing...people here in Edinburgh had been talking all day about watching the Inaugural speeches. So a group of about 12 MSP's [Members of the Scottish Parliament], their Aides, and some Interns gathered at the Member's Club here in the Parliament House at 5PM, ordered drinks, and watched President Obama give his speech. I find it so interesting at how informed the Scottish people are with American politics. They are very interested in and supportive of President Obama. Every single Scottish person I've spoken to about this subject have spoken highly about President Obama. This morning, while waiting for the city bus to take me to Parliament, I struck up a conversation with two elderly women waiting with me. One was from England and the other from Scotland. The English woman immediately asked me if I was American, and then asked me how I felt about the new President. She asked this with a big smile on her face, and then shared that she thinks he's "brilliant"."

From Anna Dale, intern at Adoption Advocates International, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia:

"I watched the inauguration of Obama at an Italian Club with Niha and Ivy (the volunteer coordinator). It was amazing because there were people from all over the world celebrating with us there. We sat at a table with people from Australia, Ireland, and England. Everyone here is very excited about Obama. I've seen many Ethiopians wearing Obama shirts."
