Mallory Reveneau is interning for the Festival de Bonaguil in Fumel, France. She is assisting with the coordination of a major theatrical festival that takes place in early August. She is also providing english language tours of the Chateau de Bonaguil (site of the theater festival) for english language tourists. Roxana Nourouzi (UW) is embarking on a ten week internship in rural India working with women's self help groups through the Grassroots Community Development internship. She checks in toward the end of her first week to share her initial impressions of India.

When I arrived in France a few weeks ago, it seemed I was the only one that didn’t know, and yet I should have been the first- Obama was coming to Normandy. It was a much-anticipated visit, since he had rejected stopping in Normandy previously when invited to visit there just before the NATO summit in Strasbourg. Since his return for the ceremony of the 65th anniversary of D-Day was confirmed, all the preparations have been closely followed in the media. So today, (I think) is my third day in Prague. If jet lag had a physical presence I think it would be some sort of giant, sci-fi amoeba that has used it's powers of phagocytosis to engulf me. Now I just sit in my disorienting, opaque existence and wait to be digested. YAY. However I must say there is probably no better place to be eaten by a sci-fi creature than Prague. Esther Honey Foundation (EHF) programs, one of IE3's internship sites were named one of the world’s ‘best 100 volunteer vacations to enrich your life in travel author Pam Grout's latest addition to the National Geographic’s 100 Best Vacations series.
