IE3 Intern Explores the Emerald Isle

Here's a quote from Laura's blog, just before she left for Ireland.

"HOO BOY!

I leave for Ireland in one week. I’m still trying to pack, but all I really end up doing is moving the pile I’ve made from one part of my closet to another. I have my clothing figured out, and the big important stuff like my passport and money – I even made a chart to help me learn Celcius and euros faster. (Unfortunately I still don’t even know how to spell Celscius. Celsius? There we go.)

Brazilian piano prodigy gives concerts in Oregon

The IE3 Internship organization - Students Helping Street Kids International (Recife, Brazil) is hosting one of their scholarship recipients in Oregon this month to perform several concerts. IE3 Intern featured in local French newspaper

Mallory Reveneau is interning for the Festival de Bonaguil in Fumel, France. She is assisting with the coordination of a major theatrical festival that takes place in early August. She is also providing english language tours of the Chateau de Bonaguil (site of the theater festival) for english language tourists. Indian Impressions

Roxana Nourouzi (UW) is embarking on a ten week internship in rural India working with women's self help groups through the Grassroots Community Development internship. She checks in toward the end of her first week to share her initial impressions of India.

My first exposure to Mumbai was exactly what you would imagine...crazy, random, chaotic and full of life!!!! On the way we drove through slums, saw cows on the side of the road, barefoot children, stores open at 11 pm and much more. The accommodations in Mumbai were comfortable. Nothing fancy but comfortable…
