Paul Primak, the director of Oregon University System International Programs, met a few IE3 interns during his recent visit to Quito Ecuador. Peter Kim is interning at Child Family Health International in Quito fall term and is wearing his "Beaver Believer" shirt.
Sarah Smith, also an OSU student, is in Quito for 12 months interning at UNIFEM. She is pictured here with her supervisor Lucia Salamea-Palacios. I received this email from our contacts in Ecuador. -Monya Lemery, IE3 Latin America Director
Monya, I really will appreciate if you help us to promote the Guandera Station. We are facing a very big problem because there are not enough interns and volunteers going there. In the U.S., they receive the information that this area is dangerous because it is near the border with Colombia. Our Guandera Biological Station is very far away from the border and we have never had any problem there. All of the conservation projects have stopped because of this incorrect information. People are very…
