Academic Credit Plans

Part of the internship application is an overview of the academic credit you will earn while abroad. At this point you should have already discussed the following with the academic advisor for your major(s):

  • departmental requirements for earning internship credit
  • how internship credits are applied toward graduation and degree requirements (important note: these are not always one and the same!)
  • graduation requirements and planning

For the application, discuss how many credits you will be earning with each professor and get a rough outline of what you must do to complete the academic requirements (ie. submit weekly journal entries, write a final report, etc.). This information needs to be included with your application so that your Regional Director and IE3 Campus Advisor know your academic plans. Once you have final confirmation from the program of your internship, you can finalize a more detailed outline with your professor(s).
