 To truly and totally recount the experiences of my internship with the Rabuor Village Project (RVP) in Rabour, Kenya and the innumerable effects it has had on me would be the work of a lifetime. Yet as the hot African sun has now set on my time there, I know a reflection on the past few months will help me begin the process of reflecting on this life changing experience. The Rabuor Nursery School quickly became the place I felt most at home. Building Bridges to the World: Directors from Mexico, Ecuador, and Tanzania Visit Oregon      by Natanya Desai, IE3 Regional Director
  For a decade, Oregon University System’s IE3 Global Internships has been building bridges between Oregon and the rest of the world. The key to the success of the internship program is the deep relationships that have developed between internship sites, universities, interns and the local communities abroad. These relationships enable an exchange of information that goes beyond the individual students’ experiences. The impact of each internship is literally felt around the world – from the student, to the community where he or she interns, and back to the classroom.  This past fall, the cycle came full circle as directors from three internship sites made the journey to Oregon to share their experiences and insights with students and faculty here.                                       Read on!

Former IE3 Intern Launches Peanutbutterabroad.com

     Travis Campbell knows what it is like to be abroad and miss comfort food from home. During a year and half in Germany, first on the Baden-Wuerttemberg Exchange program and then as an IE3 Intern on a self-arranged internship in Hamburg, Travis had ample opportunity to miss familiar foods – and he wasn’t the only one. His girlfriend (now wife) Signe, from Denmark, was missing foods, too. They both knew there had to be a solution.
